How do animals make behavioural decisions, and how are these decisions influenced by the other organisms around them? I’ve long been fascinated by wildlife and the natural world, but animal behaviour - and social behaviour in particular - are my main interest. I joined the lab as a PhD student in 2019 after completing an undergraduate & MSc thesis at the University of Guelph on the Kluane Red Squirrel Project. My previous research was concerned with behavioural plasticity in the context of territorial behaviour. For my PhD, I will use a combination of remotely-sensed data and direct ethological observations to ask how behavioural plasticity varies across a heterogeneous landscape in a gregarious species - caribou.
